What is Yoga?

The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit root, yuj, meaning union. Yoga is the union of body, mind, spirit, soul, and environment; the wholeness the oneness of us all with all that is.  Yoga is more than an exercise routine, techniques, and postures. It is a complete science of balanced living, a path to higher knowledge, compassionate existence and joyful abundance.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga is a unique form of yoga that incorporates the principles of Dr. Deepak Chopra’s best selling book, “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.” This practice integrates 5,000 year old Vedic wisdom and body-centered restful awareness techniques such as asana(postures), meditation(restful awareness), pranayama (breathing exercises), sun salutation series(energetic flow of movement) with Sanskrit mantras(ancient primal sounds or vibrations), and chakra opening practices(energy enlivening techniques.)

In addition to exploring the depths of your soul, you will learn:

This yoga series is for everyone, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Yoga is not an ego based practice, therefor there is no competition. It is a gentle inward practice with variations of each posture. I highly encourage my students to pay attention to themselves on their own mat, and not their neighbor-after all, we all have different bodies comprised of our own unique experiences. These classes are loving, nurturing, and totally accepting of each and every person.
